looking for an easy quilt pattern
#1
My friend wants to make a quilt. She isn't a quilter so she'd like an easy pattern. I have suggested a turning twenty, a 9 to 4, a 9-patch with an alternate floral block. Can you think of any others? Thank you.

Do a sampler quilt and let her take her time making each block meanwhile she is learningto make different kinds of blocks and techniques.
Flying geese, rail fence, 9 patch, a friendship star, log cabin Alex Anderson has those as her beginning blocks. She can make 2 or 3 of each and have a lap quilt. Also this will keep her attention and not be bored making the same thing over and over.
Just a suggestion!!!! :D
I made a sampler as one of my first quilts. Go to Quilters Cache and find simple 1 pin patterns!!!!! :D :D :D :D

This works up really quickly, one patch, few seams to match, there are way more designs than this that you can layout... Very fast and easy for a beginner.

I decreased the template and made this design, scroll down to the bottom of the page, it's the one that I made for Blue Bell out of blue and striped fabric, the flowers were added on.

Although I have not made one as yet (next quilt), just looking at the "Warm Wishes" pattern looks like it goes together very easily. It is just the rail fence, along with plain squares. Fabric selection would be the more difficult part, being sure you had a good "framing" for the single block. Just a suggestion. The other suggestions are great.
