Janet Kime has a book called "The Cat's Meow" which I believe has some log cabin/cat blocks in it.

The 'Four Brown Cats'(pattern incl. in book) or 'Hunter's Cats' (picture only) in Janet Kime's book "The Cat's Meow" could easily be done in a week. The cats are designed using the log cabin blocks-- 5 dark and 5 light fabrics making up the log cabin. Piecing 6 blocks together creates the cat. If you have done log cabin before, you can figure out what is needed by looking at the 'cats' blocks that are shown in Dunster's link.
