Default Need machine repair shop in Baltimore City, Maryland.....

I need to have my machines serviced. My main is a Kenmore that is 30+ years old. The man who used to service it has retired and I have to find someone else. Then I bought a machine, it's in the box in the basement, the tension need to be looked at and then I bought an antique Singer model 99 from someone on Craigslist for $20 and I want to have that one tuned and serviced before I use it. Does anyone know of a shop or someone in the near surrounding area who is trustworthy and will look at and tune my machines at a fair and honest price as well as do an honest and good job servicing them. I have no idea who to take them too. I went to a local quilt shop and they recommended someone but as I was leaving a lady stopped me and told me not to take my machines to this person. Hmmmm, who to do, who to do....I'd appreciate any help. Thanks! ! ! !

I have a Kenmore in the 158. series, so it's about the same age as yours. What's wrong with it? Those machines run like trains and are generally maintenance free. About all they need is lint cleaned out from under the needle and in the bobbin area and oiled, and all that is easy to do yourself.

I've had a Kenmore serviced at the Sew 'n' Vac at Normandy Plaza on Baltimore Pike just over the bridge into Howard County. As I recall, it cost about $70 and the store is moving more and more into full quilt store status!! Lovely people selling brand new Pfaff all embroidery supplies and I haven't dared to look at the fabric in the back room.
Also had major repair at tiny store in Laurel MD on FW purchased broken from estate sale: the man just chuckled when I told him my husband could fix it but I wanted the repairs done in my lifetime!!
