Default Looking for name of old block

This old frail quilt was given to the church where I go to quilt with their ladies. No one knew the name of the block and I know someone here has the name and probably the background info on the name. The quilt is too frail to save and some of us are keeping a block to try to copy at some point in time. Anyone here have any idea of name and maybe when it was made. Feed sacks were used for some of the blocks. One of the ladies suggested it would be a great quilt to use neckties in.

Also would like to find a pattern for the block.

Could it be a version of grand others fan?

Interesting block. At first glance, it looks like angels!

Very interesting pattern. How big are the blocks? 6 1/2 inches maybe.

For some reason I am thinking a Kansas City Star pattern or Chicago World Fair era. Cleopatra's Fan popped into my head but it is curved pieces. It also brought Haley's Comet to mind but that's not it either. Interesting block.

Have no idea of a name, but is very reminiscent of the art deco style mirrors and ceiling decor of the mid 1900s.

I was thinking the same as Gay - Art Deco, maybe 20's or 30's. When I searched for "Art Deco fan quilt" most of my results were more complex than this block. I also got several Dresden variations. I think Nancy Zieman had the most similar block: http://www.nancyzieman.com/blog/quil...f-the-month-6/

That is a nice block. Thanks for sharing.
