Hi, I am going to a Bible retreat in August and the theme of it is KEYS to the Kingdom. I would like to make a wall hanging of a key with space below the key block to add signatures. anyone have a pattern or know where I could find a pattern for a pieced block with a key on it?
I tried to design my own on graph paper but it is off looking. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Looks crooked no matter what I am doing.
Thanks for the help.

Our Bible School did a similar project but not quilted; a big poster.Instead of using a key picture, we did something pertaining to each topic. Would that work? P.S. We called them Kids of the Kingdom for their help.:)

Can you put up a photo of your sketch? We might be able to work out how to tweak it. I've just tried putting "key logo" into Google Image ("key quilt" brought up images of shoes, most mysterious), and that might give you some ideas.

I looked for "quilt a key pattern" and "quilted key" and many other variations. Mostly what I got was the legend for quilting which used to be called a key. Nothing that looked at all like a key.
I am looking for something like a skeleton key or like that. Even basic would be great but found nothing.

When all else fails, applique! Google "free key clip art" or "free key coloring pages". Many things come up that I think would make a suitable pattern.

if you can get one of those clip art keys that is very basic then add lines to it and make it sort of pp'ed quilt top it might work then.

Would piano keys work where people could sign the white ones?

what a creative thought !! "Maake a joyful noise unto the Lord ... etc" Might be a good tie in

Or think of what keys open -- doors
