Default Looking for a Pattern

Any one know of a quilt pattern that uses both 4 & 5 inch squares?

Are you asking because you have a lot of squares already cut in those sizes?

If so, the 5 inch squares could be used in half-square triangles, then square (trim) them to 4 inch squares.

Yes, I have a bunch. I had started making a puff quilt years and years ago. Took apart what I had started and am now searching for something to make with them.

Default An idea..

What about putting a sashing strip between the small and the larger squares? Or, make HST out of the larger squares, are they an inch larger?

Do you want to make a white quilt or do you want to mix it with other fabrics?

You can make a lot of half-square triangles with those 4" squares. I'm thinking a star pattern. Like one in Quilters Cache:

Just use white fabric where the black fabric is. You can also find a pretty fabric to fussy cut for the center.

I always like to use 4" squares when making 3 1/2" half-square triangles. Some people like using 3 7/8" but I prefer 4" because then I just square it up afterwards. With 3 7/8" squares you have to be very careful with your seam allowance.

Please tell us what you decide.
