He has fought the odds and studied so hard and passed the written test on his 4th try(they have it on tape thank goodness) and he passed the road test on his first try. He is now a semi truck driver .I am so proud of his preserverance(some told him to get disability) Well I wont even go there on this board. But any way I would love to make him some type of " keep on truckin" theme quilt to reward his never give up attitude.I just know someone here has seen one or can give a not so creative average quilter some design tips! Thanks in advance!

What a wonderful story!! I love to hear/read about supportive parents who teach their kids how to live life to the fullest instead of sitting in the corner, sucking their thumbs and letting someone else take care of them. Congratulations to your son and to you for your support of him!!

Why don't you draw and applique a semi, that would make it even more special. God bless.

Best wishes to your son, and to you for standing behind him all the way!

Thanks for mentioning Pam's truck quilt - I saw small picture of On the Road Again yesterday in her Dear Pam book advert and was going to mention it here - Lovely to see a bigger picture and so appropriate for this young man - he'll enjoy carrying that around in his bunk onboard the truck so hope his mother can make it for him.

Virginia, That is gorgeous fabric - I saw a documentary a couple of nights ago on Ice Road Truckers, and that fabric brings the Canadian/Alascan scenery back to mind beautifully.
