I thought since I had finished a few of my UFOs that I would get out the Janome 11000 and play with it this afternoon. I bought it New Years but haven't done much with it because I didnt' want to start something new. First I tried to transfer some embroidery designs from my laptop to the flash drive. Couldn't get that to work and apparently I'm missing the proper cord to connect the computer to the sewing machine. Then I thought, ok--I'll just make a quilt label. Well, for the life of me I can't figure out to get to a second and third line! I posted "help" on the janome yahoo group but in the meantime I'm just incredibly frustrated. This is not how I planned to spend my afternoon, I thought I would be more productive. And now I'm too mad to sew! :( So I guess that means I get to go clean up the sewing room again. I was planning to go to the dealer for a lesson on the 11000 this week but didn't honestly think I was going to have to be shown how to do a quilt label! Thanks for letting me vent. I feel better now.

Yes, I consulted the manual but it's no help either!

You should have been entitled to some free lessons from your dealer. Sounds like you need to take advantage of their expertise. Learning an embroidery machine is not like any other sewing machine! I'm a book-type myself, but have found times when either my brain wasn't working or the explanation was bad -- I just couldn't see it. Took it to the shop in frustration & w/in minutes, I was off & running -- with notes in hand! Good Luck!

The dealer is giving me free lesson for as long as I need them. I just thought a quilt label would be easy enough. Just shows what thought did for me! :)

I do the lines on labels one at a time. Embroider the first line then program, position and embroider the second line. There is probably a better way but at least this works.

the owners classes are really important to take at the sewing machine dealers...so many people spend huge amounts of $$ on machines, then never bother to learn to use it...the books help- but there is no comparison to actually taking the owners class
