quick trip variation
#1
Hi everyone,
Looking for some advice here. I am planning to do a quilt from the Eleanor Burns book - Quick Trip Quilts. I had first thought of doing the actualt TATW pattern - but after looking through the book I prefer the Quick Quarter Quilts. These are basically cut in squares but the pattern just runs on the diagonal - still strip and tube pieced. Her pattern calls for 12 1/4 yards of different fabrics to do a 45 x 52 crib size quilt. My question is this - probably a silly question unless I am expecting the quilt police to show up BUT - I want to do this but have 8 fabrics and don't want to add more. I think I can make it work if I just reuse two of the 8 fabrics again around the outside edges. Anyone with thoughts or advice with regard to this plan?
TIA,
Chris

I've done this and it works out well. It actually highlights the one that repeats. The only thing you have to look out for is keeping the order straight when cutting apart. I flubbed up and cut one wrong but I had an extra.
