I received my Janome 2139N in a trade but it doesn't have an owners manual. I have looked online, called the company and e-mailed them.really bad service could only give me a part number and told me to order it through my Janome dealer. I don't have one near. I would
like to know how to lower the feed dogs for FMQ or can it be done? I love you guys you have been such a help for me.

You can always buy the surpreme slider and keep the dogfeed up. that is what I do. The FMQ'ing comes out really nice.

If you could take a pic and post, someone will be able to help. I know that my Janome has a switch on the back of the machine that allows the feed dogs to be lowered. You might look around for any knobs or switches. If it has a free arm, could be on the inside of the spot where the free arm rests. Just some ideas.

There is a slider button on the back of the free arm to drop the feed dogs on my Janome

Mine is not on the back of the machine. You have to take the table off and make it a free arm. Look on the back of the free arm.
