    Default Machine chain piecing

    Hi
I'm trying to make a Dresden circle and I was machine chain picing the 5" Dresden pieces to form the points. When I snipped the chain apart and tried to turn the point they fell apart. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks!

well probably need smaller stitches, so when you turn you don't stress them too much. I would leave a bit of chain thread in between them too.

When chain piecing continue sewing about 3/8" or so, then needle down and place next piece right up to the needle. Then when snipping between pieces there will be enough thread to allow for snapping back. By the way, polyester thread is notorious for unraveling, but it is my thread of choice, so this method works well for me. I took a precision piecing class from Sally Collins and I learned this technique from her.
