I bought the Simplicity one at Walmart just to cut fast strips to wrap around clothesline to make the fabric bowls. the strips don't have to be accurate for that. It's hard for me to get the accuracy needed for quilting using the machine. It's great for rag rugs, crocheting strips, latch hooking, etc. It wasn't intended for quilting but for crafting.

I bought one and used it for about 15 minutes and prompty returned it! It was very hard to control the fabric and cut a straight line. I use my June Tailor 12 inch ruler with 1/2 inch slots and I love it! I like to make strips.

I got the Simpilicty one at JoAnns with a coupon. Was very excited. Set it up and tried to cut. You have to be very careful how you feed it as it goes wobly (is that a word). I put it back in the box and have not used it since. I use my June Tailor ruler, which I love. There may be a way to keep everything straight, but I am not sure how. Didn't take it back so now sits in my closet. Maybe I will try it again sometime, but not now. I think it's a waste of money. I want the big June Tailor ruler. I have two of her rulers and think they work better. As was said maybe I'll use it for crafts. BrendaK

I bought a June Tailor shape cut pro....it is a large mat with slits in it every 1/2"....you just put your rotary cutter at the beginning of the slot and cut....all lines are totally straight....strips cut to whatever wih you want and no waste......cuts strips in seconds......one of my best buys...wouldn't be without mine.
.... gather with coupons they can be found quite cheaply.

Don't buy one. I got one and I used it once and then I got rid of it. To hard to cut and work with.

Got one from Joann's and never got consistent cuts. Took it back. I am very careful, but this machine is not ready for prime time!!

I have the Simplicity electric strip cutter. Like Bella Boo, I have used it mostly for cutting strips to make fabric bowls. It works wonderfully for that purpose.

I have also cut 2" strips for quilting with this machine. It works okay, but only if you are willing to go very slooooowly. If you try to cut fast, the strips wiggle all over the place and you won't get accurate cuts.

Now as for the Simplicity Bias Tape Maker - that thing is pretty awesome! I use mine all the time... love it.

I bought one, tried it (many times), returned it, bought the Shape Cut Ruler, Love It!! I think the shape cut is much easier to use and WAY ore accurate. Just my opinion, of course.
