I was told that the Marden's in Ellsworth will eventually move to where the KMart used to be. We now have a super KMart right across from Home Depot. Also Lowes is on the other side of Rte 3. Very convenient. We heard rumors and are hoping for The Gap, Old Navy and Kohls in the big area by KMart also.
That would be wonderful to not have to travel to Bangor for some of the bigger things. :D

Ladybugquilter I just got back from Marden's. I didn't find any Free Spirit yet but they said they have a ton of fabric waiting to unload.
I did find some Maywood Studio flannel for $2.99

So anyone living close to Lewiston, Maine
You need to go to Marden's

thats a great find justquilting. I have always wanted to make a flannel top and what a way to be able to do so cheaply. I might just see a trip to lewiston in my future:)

I am going to the Rumford Marden's on Monday, then the Lewiston one that following Friday. Hoping to find some goodies while there. Hubby will be with me on Monday, and he always says" wish you would use what you have before you buy more" lol.

Some men just don't understand the need for fabric. Fabric for us is like tools for them, you need to have it for that project that may come up someday.

There's nothing like flannel in the winter!
I think I'll go back to Marden's today to see what else there is.
I can see it's going to be a budget breaker!!
Mamaw your going to love the Marden's in lewiston.

I haven't heard the advertising for Mardens since I moved from Maine to Alabama in 1998. Must say I was smiling when I read your post..... raised in Farmington/Wilton, also lived in Naples/So. Casco for 14 yrs. I still love to quilt even if it is Alabama!

Went to Marden's today & they have bins waiting to unload.
They don't have any place to put it.
They have too much.

Can you imagine.
They've been so busy cutting & not making a dent!

I went to Marden's in Sanford today! Two friends and I go fairly regularly and there were quilt guilds ladies there on their way to Kennebunk Maine for a retreat weekend. The new shipments may be getting delayed - there is a vacant store area next to them that Marden's will be opening as a bigger fabric area/store - starting with supplies from a quilt store they have bought out and will move to the site! They are hoping by the middle of November the move will happen. I will pass along news as I get it.

My friends bought more fabric than I did - I was focused on getting embellishment supplies - they had greatly discounted trims, laces, etc. mostly Wright's brand.

Also stopped in at Knight's Fabric store in Cape Neddick, Maine - they are in the current issue of Quilt Sampler magazine. Got a batik charm package there.
