I miight have mention this before, but I am making small children giveaway quilts for folks devastated by the recent tornadoes that went through Alabama. One was close my our daughter's home.

Her church is distributing things, and she is in charge to baby items.

PLEASE think of helping folks who have been through soooo much lately.

Even a little baby quilt will bring warmth and a smile. imagine, getting wiped out of everything when you just gave birth, or are expecting. Bring chills and tears to my heart.

SCRAPPIES WORK FOR THESE!

I would think a large church that had not been hit would be the best place. First off, the quilts are about 100% assured to get to the folks you made them for. Ok, I know this sounds rather 'nasty' - but people being people might just want to take the better ones home for themselves. YOu are alot less ikely to have this happen when the quilts are mailed to a church.

You can find a church by looking online at the city you want tohelp out. Put into google.com Churches in Joplin MIssouri as an example.

My daughter's church is Friendship Methodist in Athens AL.

Can you ask you daughter for the address and if there someone who we should put it attention to??? I was thinking about sending a couple but didn't know where and the red cross woman who usually takes them is already back from there.
thanks

Friendship Methodist Church
16479 Lucas Ferry Road
Athens, AL 35611-2275

Mark package TORNADO

Not giving personal names out. This is a choice I have made about being online. OK OKOK, I understand we are quilters etc. But it feels much better to used first names etc.
