I am making Jelly Rolls and need your suggestions.

I am doing basically more solid looking fabrics, not true solids but the hand dyed, small one color monotone background. My question is?

Had you rather have one color jelly roll or multi color.

I have enough colors and values to put from 4-8 or ten strips of each fabric in the 40 piece roll.

So I could have 5 each of 8 different fabrics of a color from dark to light or, 8 or 5 prints of a color

Or some could be a mixture of many colors.

I dont see any Jelly Rolls made up of just a single color with values of dark to light or even a multi color roll.

Oh yes, these will be pre-washed. Now isn't that a clever idea....lol but taking a lot of washing and ironing.

They both sound great to me too. I can easily see a use for both. Hope this helps.

Either would be great. Every quilting idea we get has it's own set of color needs, so I think many of us would be interested in both. Personally, I'll be interested in seeing a jelly roll in shades of the same color for the project I want to start.

(I dont see any Jelly Rolls made up of just a single color with values of dark to light or even a multi color roll.)

They have these kind of jelly rolls on ebay from time to time.

I think a variety of different jelly rolls are great to have. I don't purchase jelly rolls that have more than 2 strips of each fabric, because I am looking for variety. It is just a personal choice.
