I only ordered backing once from Marshals and was very pleased with it. Will definitely order again from them

I use the Blenders from MarshallsDryGoods, love how they feel and are easy to use.
I have bought the 3 yard backing fabric as well from them, I prewash, dry then cut n sew.

I've bought Marshall's wide backings and liked them all.
When I need a special back I buy from http://www.christianlanequilters.com.
I've been making repro quilts lately and want a lining that suits them.

Two of the thrift stores near me got in 100% cotton flannel from Kohl's.. I bought a bunch, and they have been quilting up so nicely.. and they were better quality than Joann's

The first quilts I ever made had sheet backs. But, I don't like the feel of them.... too slick due to the high thread counts. Regular LQS fabrics come out so much nicer.

I use sheets for backing and thrift stores can really have nice ones for sale you just have to decide for yourself

There are so many used items I don't mind, but I, too, draw the line on sheets! I guess I would make an exception if the sheet were used by me and the quilt were for me, but otherwise, no thank you! Just sayin'

I've used their wideae backing and love it. In fact, I've never been disappointed in anything from Marshalls. Can't beat the prices, quality or customer service.

When we go to the hospital or use an ambulance.. those are all used sheets. I would think less happened on the sheets at thrift stores then hospital ones. Like they use the same wash cloth to clean our bodies, wipe or faces and clean bottoms of adults and infants.. So thats why we wash them before we use them. My son has two quilts, one with backing from our LQS and one with a sheet..his entire family love the sheet one the best.

I use sheets all the time for quilts, have not had a problem. I also buy them at thrift stores.
