My DIL is a new math teacher and we were discussing how she could decorate her classroom. I made her a Sudoko quilt a few years ago but can anyone think of any other "math related" quilting patterns. I thought about triangles and geometric shapes. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I cannot think of one at this time but I usually can google.com and find some patterns. Have you tried to google yet?

I did google and found tessalations. There are quite a few quilt patterns that include tessalations and I have at least one of them.

Maybe applique or embroider various math symbols on blocks and make a quilt with them?

Would you be interested in doing a quilt with all the different symbols? Pi, angles, algebra, etc. Just have them floating all over the top of the quilt.

Math quilts are a passion of mine. Some excellent resources are:
The Club EQ Math Quilt challenge results
    http://www.electricquilt.com/Albums/06/0608/0608p1.asp
Elainne Ellison's quilts are amazing http://www.mathematicalquilts.com/
Two of the best tesellation sites are

    and http://www.tessellations.org/
And the best of all..design your own tessellation here

    Be sure to include Fibonacci.

I made a quilt using the Fibonaci number system ie 1-2-3-5-8-13 etc and it looks great

I have always liked the cubes shown in the one block wonder books! I hope to do an entire quilt (or maybe a wall hanging) with those 3D blocks.
