Hi. My next project will be a memory quilt for my dad. I want to transfer pictures of mom and dads life. You know, from their wedding on. I have heard about transfering pictures from your computer to fabric. Anyone have any helpful hints on how I go about doing this. Thanks.

I made one for my mother about 12 years ago using the heat transfer method--scanning pics onto the paper and ironing them to fabric. Theera are much better methods now a days--wish I had known about them then. Please posts photos when done.

You'll love it and my best tip is to TRY it with small pictures first. Making sure you use the new color set wash that the methods suggest. The ink won't wash out that way, it will stay the same.

I recently made a memory quilt for my son and daughter-in-law's anniversary. It had pictures of , what else, my granddaughters. I used regular 4x6 snapshots. I put them in my printer and printed them on sheets of paper that had fabric stuck to them. I bought the sheets at my quilting shop. The ink from the printer inbeds itself into the fabric and does not wash out. I could enlarge or reduce the size to fit my purpose. Sorry, I can't recall the name of the product. After printing, you just peel the cloth off of the paper. The clothis your quilt square. It comes in white and beige. It cost was about $2 a sheet. Hope this helped.
I made one about 25 years ago using the heat transfer method. The pictures soon washed out.

I use Bubble Jet Set and good muslin fabric. I attach a 9.5 X 12 inch piece of fabric to a full size label, run it through my printer. Have to be careful when taking the fabric off the label, it may ravel and/or distort.
