Default Memory T-shirt quilt

I have just finished my first quilt top, a T-shirt memory quilt top. I chose a diagonal striped fabric for a border. My question is; would you place the stripes all in the same direction, say vertically, or turn the border stips so they follow one another as if it were a pieced strip? I purchased 2 yards of fabric and the length of the quilt top is 76.5 inches long. I am not doing a miter corner and will be putting in corner blocks, also, to compensate for the shortage, to be able to cut my border on the lengthwise grain. Any ideas would be appreciated.

If you have enough fabric, I like the stripes all going the same way. UNLESS you are going to frame each block with strips/mitered corners and then you can get a cool 45 degree angle design with stripes.

I'd probably put a seam in the middle of each side so the stripes would sort of do this, /////\\\\\. But then I have a habit of making things more complicated than they need to be. LOL
