My husband has been collecting records for decades. He has an office in the house - full of records. My entire basement is full of records and my garage is full (wall to wall, top to bottom) with records. I have my stash (enough for several lifetimes) confined to one room. At least we understand each others obsessions!

My husband (passed away in 2003) would have said " Is there anything else you need, and also "How about that piece over there? When you get home you'll wish you had gotten it" I have two sons who always say "When it thunders, that"s Dad telling Mom to check if there isn't something else she needs." He grew up without and always thought everybody should have whatever they wanted oer needed if we could afford it. Great memories!

I sit here giggle'n. When ever I leave the house my hubby pretty much expects that I'm gonna come home with fabric. So many times he hears how it was in the red tag section of Joann's and that it was 50% of red tag and omg what a buy. Every time he asks what you gonna use it for & I say, I don't know I think of something sooner or later and he just smiles. He never gives me grief.

He has a garage full of VERY expensive tools (although at one point he used them all quite a bit to remodel our home), he golfs AND he smokes.

If they would look at their stash of hand tools and spare parts lying around, they would understand us much better!

Funny that 4 people in a waiting room had so much in common ---- My husband has never complained about my 'collection' of fabric/sewing supplies. But if he did, I'm ready. -- Fishing, he will drive the boat around the lake using the fish finder showing all the catching oppertunities, and not get a fish or let them go. Hunting, he has the bows, rifles, shotguns, clothes and gear, 7:00, 8:00, then 10:00 and he is still in bed. In the afternoon he will take a stroll in the woods and call it his hunt for the day. Oh, did I mention he may take a kid or 2 with him. Tools, He has them all. The means to fix any car, appliance, and could build a house - plumbing, electrical, ect. Just paid $500 to have the starter put on the truck. --- So if he were to comment I am ready. ---- He has encouraged me at times, and I think that is because he is well aware of his massive collection of toys.

My dh was with me and was quiet the whole time but when we got to the car he said "I'm glad you use your fabric". LOL if he only knew exactly how much I had, I am unsure if he would have said that.

Men can be so funny when they don't understand our obsession with quilting. But what about the men that collect tools that never get used or fishing gear or hunting gear or what ever hobby they have.
Or men who buy tools, use them, misplace them and buy the same tool again!!! UGH!!! I know where my fabric is, I know where my rotary cutter is, I know where all my tools are...now they may be in another drawer beside another machine but I have it! Hmmm.....maybe I should go and buy a few more of the SAME tool so I can have one beside EVERY machine! Uhhh, guess I do have some of the same habits, huh???

I like your thoughts. My husband also has many duplicates and triples, because he is not organized. Or leaves a tool at one of the kids houses. Can't find it -buy a new one. I noticed he now has at least 5 cordless drills. They seem to find their way home. --- Yes, next time I see tools I have I will remember the other machines they can be sitting with.

I only WISH my husband would find a hobby! ANYTHING to get him out of the house once in awhile so I could sew more! I have to "budget" my sewing time, or he complains that's all I do. At least I have something to show for my time--all his time in front of the TV doesn't produce anything!

Wish we had basements but in VA Beach that is a no-no. So I am squashed into a corner of the office! Which means no room for much of a stash. :(
