Terri, how about we start a 2nd annual retreat for summer of 2010? maybe on the Coast somewhere... let me know when you know where you are going to be stationed...
Don't know what the plans are for when we leave here. I do know that we will be taking a full 30 days of traveling. Will have to wait until we get settled where ever we are going and find out if hubby will be still going to sea or be on shore duty. Once we leave here, this will be his last tour to give him 30 years.
Don't forget part of your 30 day travel trip is to here ducky!
Oh, I think the trip to you will be a seperate trip. That way, I'm not on a time constraint! :)

Do we have enough people for this? I was going to send my check but wanted to see if it was a 'go' or not first.

I'm really interested in this retreat. Can you tell me the nearest airport?

However, I am going to start saving for 2010..... it would be lovely, I have only been to America once and I loved it. I am one of those shop till ya drop kinda person and I came back with an extra case LOL Boy, just think of all that lovely squishy fabric I could bring back.

Sorry, don't mean to hijack...
Elle - DD & DH went to Spain last year as part of a school trip. They LOVED it. DD hopes to go back someday. As I wasn't going, the only thing I wanted them to bring back was fabric. Wow, who knew it was so hard to find?? A friend & fellow quilter also went, she did find a bit & brought me a small pkg - but laughed that it was probably from the States anyhow!

Yes, your friends must have had a job to find the material shops, they are few and far between, unless of course you go to the big cities. Out here in the sticks it costs 14 Euros a metre thats 17.4713 US Dollars.

Now you know why I get nearly all my fabric from the web, I can buy nice fabric for 4 or 5 Dollars and pay shipping and its still cheaper by far.

Just been exchanging the price of gas for the car and we are paying 1.08 Euros per litre that works out at 6.21 US Dollars. So those kind of things are expensive, I think everything else is fairly cheap, Cheaper than the UK that is for sure.

Ouch, that'd really put a dent in my stash! Actually, maybe that'd be good... It's taking over... I live near Mennonite shops, where we get LQS fabrics for $5 - $6 per yard. Not exactly LQS setting, though. Very kind, but very basic.

Truly wish this retreat was a possibility. One that the friend I mentioned previously and I have gone to for several years isn't working out this year. Unfortunately, flights from upstate NY to Kansas make it prohibitive.

There seem to be a lot of northeasterners... Maybe somebody will get another up for this part of the country.

I'll be joining the jealous ladies following the fun on-line.

Me to, I will be following this thread and am really looking forward to all the pictures. It will be fun, I know there is a quilt retreat in Spain, not sure where, perhaps I should look into that and then you could all think about coming here instead in a couple of years.
