Default Acrylic rulers question?

I am about to make a christmas tree skirt and it calls for a companion angle acrylic ruler. My question is is this the same as a flying geese ruler? It looks the same in the picture. Don't want to get it wrong before I even start.

This site explains how to use the companion angle ruler. http://www.simplicity.com/t-tutorial...ion-Angle.aspx I hate to have to buy a new ruler for any project. I would study the directions in the pattern and see if I could make do with the rulers I already have. Good luck.

I'm with Dunster. If I bought the "specialty" ruler for every project I do, I wouldn't be able to get to my sewing machine. Most of the time, your regular 6" X 24" ruler will have angle lines marked on it. May not be as fancy a gadget, but will probably get the job done. Another thing to consider is are you going to do multiples of the same project? If it's only to use for one project, I'd have to think really hard about spending the money.

I agree I seem to always to back to my 6 x 24 whenever possible.
