HI.
I've seen several posts from folks who rent long arms at their LQS. Does anyone know if there's a place in Michigan that does this? I'm considering a purchase, but would like to try first. I'm not sure that my FMQ skills on my home machine would translate easily to a long arm. You move the fabric in one case and the machine in the other. All the places I've been to have small demo units set up, not a full deal, and they want to show me computerized designs. I'm not interested in that, I like the look of the less than precise FMQ!
TIA,
Nancy

I know the place up the road that rents out time is a Bernina dealer, so you might look for a dealer in your area.

When I moved this summer to Atlanta, I just searched on the web for quilt shops within so many miles and then started calling them. That's how I found mine! They would even be able to give you the name of someone who rents them out of their home. It's worth a try!

Hi - Try: [email protected]
They rent time on their Long arm quilting machine. Their store is located in the Brighton - Howell, Michigan area. I have not used it - but I really do like the store. The ladies there are most helpful - and I love the fabrics there!! Hope that helps!

Hi,
Monarch Quilts located in Brighton, Mi does rent time on a genuine long arm. There is a class as a pre-requisite to learn how to load the quilt and work the machine properly. This class is a 4 hour class held usually once every 3 months or so. Once the class is completed, you then can rent time for yourself to quilt your own quilt tops. You can contact us by calling 810-225-7005 for more information or go to www.monarchquilts.com to see a listing of our classes.
