Oooooh! I am loving watching this all come together. :D One of these days I'm going to do this too.
It's brilliant seeing all the suprises - like the house & ladder. Looking forward to seeing how it ends up. :D:D

Ok, that mess of S&C in the first post is gone and I had to empty another bag but these are larger piece, thank God! lol.

I am working on a long part going down both sides of the other four pieces and have more that half done last night. Notice my little doggies with the kerchef?

Then I just took a ladder and placed it in the bottom space and will work from there.

I will probably switch the pieces around once I get them done.

thinking about the rest of the piece

How about turning the blocks so your "streets" meander through the quilt--triangle topped squares could look like houses dotted here and there next to the streets. Maybe that would take away from your mindless activity though.

LOL should have looked at all the posts!! Love your pics, thanks.

I had lots of leftover pieces of pinks and greens and a rose print. Made all the small rail fence blocks I could, starting with dark greens and darker pinks and the rose print. As I ran out of those I used the next lighter color and continued. When I put it together I put all the darks in one corner and then gradually added the lighter ones and then the lightest ones. When I got it all together I thought it was too long and narrow so I added an appliqued border up one side and then put a dark green border all around. My very favorite quilt to date!

These are not finished by any means. I don't want a block to block look. I want it to flow together as a whole, so I have to do a connection somewhere.

I put the three together and I can see where there is an outside strip, it gives the block appearance. I turned the top two with no strips on that side and I can see what I like. I love the black intersperced here and there.

I now think I should put some cats and dogs and houses in. I got some neat blocks out of "Sew Precise".

The two blocks on the top, show the striped pieces of the long string that I did. I filled in the curve at the dip and left the round part alone and then I cut the whole strip straight. I just add and square up as I go but love the crooked things inside.

I will update as I make more mindless.
And I throw those pieces away..........

Why waste a good scrap when it can be used like this and have a wonderful quilt in the end! I love this! But...I get so bored and have little patience with small pieces. You are an inspiration. Will cont. to watch this grow. Thank You for sharing.
