    Smile Miniature Quilts

At our quilt group recently we had a show and tell from a visiting group and they showed several Miniature quilts including a Sampler Quilt. It was SO tiny - but absolutely beautiful. Has anyone got any tips on any books or patterns I could purchase on this subject ?
Thanks for any help you may have.

I'm sure there are lots of books on miniature quilts but I think it would be fun to take some favorite blocks and reduce the size. BTW....great job on your DJ! Mine is in the hand quilting stage and hopefully will be finished for our guild's show in Feb.

If you're doing DJ ... you're doing one large Miniature Quilt!

There's so many different interpretations as to what Miniature Quilts are. And there's many ladies here who have become Masters at the trade ... though I should probably say Mistresses!

    Here's my maiden attempt ....

    Karen,
Thank you very much for your kind comments re my Dear Jane ( hence my intirigue in miniatures) Yes - to reduce the size of a block is a good idea - I must look at that. I know a few years ago there was a miniature magazine - but that has been discontinued - such a shame !
Good luck with your DJ - would love to see a 'photo when you have completed it !

A few years ago there was a magazine out called Miniature Quilts, and thats all that was in it. It was a great magazine. you might look for them on Amazon or e-bay. I have held on to mine. Lots of patterns and tips and ideas. Worth looking for!!

Dottie: If you want to be stunned by minis, check this out--http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...ts-t67711.html. She made her quilts 6" to go into her bear blocks! It left me speechless

You can google miniatures and get many ideas. I love the magazine Miniature Quilts and have saved many issues. A shame that a publication on minis is not available. If you enjoy Paper Piecing, it is one way to get really great blocks in miniature! Good luck on your quest!
