Those who are saying the cash register processes the Coupons, not the individual cashiers, are correct. This is all programmed into their system, cashiers do not make any decisions about what gets discounted and what does not. There are so many limitations and policies related to discounts, coupons and honoring other stores' coupons etc it would not be possible for a cashier to keep it all straight-they don't get paid enough to bear that burden!!!!

I agree. Unless the amount is significant (either in my favor or the store's favor) or if I am absolutely certain of an error, I let it pass. Mistakes are made. That is life.

Former Catholic school principal so, wow, do I know about Catholic guilt! It works really well when a student doesn't do the right thing.....much better than when I was a public school principal!

I'm excited to read about the senior discount day at JAF. When do you know they're coming? As a member of the American Sewing Guild I get 10% off my total purchase, including sale items and coupon items. I think that the senior discount works the same way.

Enjoy your new purchase!

But, you have to point out which coupons to use, sometimes.

I had a coupon that said 40% off on all regular and SALE items and the cashier didn't use it. When I pointed out that it said Sale items, she was surprised and said I'd gotten a really good coupon and rang it through. So, keep an eye on what coupons are being scanned for your purchases.

Red, I would have done the same as you...called and spoken to them. Glad it all worked out and you can enjoy your die, now.

I agree she had to have clicked a coupon or the register wouldn't have picked it up. If this had happened at a local quilt shop, I would say a mistake is possible, but not with Joanne's system.

Guilty .....infers that YOU did something wrong...tell us again..what that was? Cashier rang up the sale....scanned the coupons, accepted your payment. Done.
