Default Moda Shirt-oops

From what I can see, either I got the top row wrong or the pattern does. It was supposed to end up 11X13 before adding the little borders. I could cut off the extra inch at the top but I think I will add a little strip to the bottom to make a 13X13 inch block. I will not add the other borders. I did this out of scrap fabric to see how to goes together. Ended up cute though .

I've not made it, but looking at the pattern I downloaded, I think the top row(D) should be part of the sashing that would go on the bottom. Without that top row it should be close to the 13 x 11.

Still very cute and great fabric!

That is so clever! You turn the fabric inside out for the inside of the shirt??? Marvelous. I'm so taken away I don't care what size it is!

Yes the fabric gets turned wrong side up for the neck. Sewstephanie posted the pattern link from Moda in her Aloha-cute little Hawaiian shirts post.

That's really cute, my only problem would be that my husband would then want a shirt out of all the prints. That's his favorite thing in fabric shops is to spot great shirt material.

Toverly, you can get your DH into a fabric shop??!! Wow!! My DH sits in the car, has a nap or plays on his phone and always asks me if I know that I have been in that particular shop for XX number of minutes.

BTW Tartan that is very cute! I also admired Sewstephanie's block. Great way to use little prints. Guess you could do something similar with girly fabric. Maybe a scooped neck with a ruffle.....no...no! I am not going to the sewing room to try my idea! Well..maybe tomorrow..
