This will be my first quilt that I am tying. Do you tie the quilt before or after you put the binding on?

When I did mine I did it before. But I have only done 3 and I have never quilted anything. YET I hope.

I deceided to tie this quilt because I did a purple blue and green batik D9p. It came out beautiful and I had to make the back panel so I used batiks on that. I just think tying will not take away from the look.
