there are so many how can you actually choose? i love 'storm at sea' blocks...i've seen some awe inspiring pineapple block quilts...there are some beautiful log cabin blocks...baltimore album quilts will take your breath away- I LOVE LONESTAR & MARINER'S COMPASS quilts...there are $100,000 whole cloth quilts....
impossible to only have 1 (all time favorite) mainly because i may see one that takes my breath away & believe in the moment that is the most beautiful quilt i've ever seen- then a month later see one somewhere else that knocks my socks off!

I think it totally depends upon the fabric. I've seen simple patterns, turned into gorgeous quilts. I've also seen wonderful patterns, made to look hideous, with the wrong fabrics/colors. Guess it's true that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

There are so many I love I would hate to have to choose just one. I agree with Neesie it is how it is used and the artistic use of colors and fabrics that make a beautiful quilt.
