I actually bought the extended warranty from the shop I bought my Viking SE from because they include free cleanings too...I take it in about 4 times a year and - it pays for itself in 2 cleanings. I never buy those things, but since this is computerized I can't do much for it if it breaks.

I am like the rest, I didn't know Bernina's ever got sick, I have had mine for 29 yrs and its never been sick. I don't care for it as I should, its like a timex give it a licking and it keeps on ticking. I feel sorry for my machine actually, it could have gotten a better owner. One who would care of it. Poor thing.

My trusty Ms B that I have had for over 4 decades now once had to go in for major surgery. Seems I sewed on her so much that I had worn her brushes to just nubs. Had to have a whole new motor. Since then she has run just fine. She is in semi retirement now, her younger sis does the grunt work and Miss B gets to help newbies learn to sew. Thank the heavens for competent and understanding repairmen who know and love Berninas and who know how much we love our machines.

This is why, I am told, you need a second machine, so that the mourning is not so painful. I only have one machine too, a Bernina, and have never had to leave her for more than a day. So glad I crochet, LOL.

Oh dear!! This is very serious!! Bernina's are supposed to be immortal, so hopefully this is a little illness with just a big scare. Prayers for both you and the Bernina! I have a Bernina 1130 and I would be very upset if anything happened to it.

My Bernina was purchased in 1962. I'm trying to get it back from my daughter. I love that machine.

You will be in all our prayers.
