Hi everyone,
My hubby & I are planning on moving to the Charleston, SC area sometime soon. We curious about fabric stores, sewing machine repair businesses and local guild/sewing groups. Anyone out there that could give me some information on these items it would be greatly appreciated.

I love Charleston! The history that is preserved there is amazing. We stayed downtown for two weeks and I would love to live there. The houses are mouth dropping awesome in that area. There was one quilt shop a few blocks from the Market, very nice but small. I didn't leave the downtown area but I looked in the phone book and there were many quilt shops listed. You just have to take the Haunted Tours! What a blast. Charleston is full of ghosts!

We love Charleston, too! What a town and you are so right the history, the architecture, the preservation of things in the past and how they link us into the future - beautifully done.
Both of our grown daughters now live the area with their families and have been trying to get us to relocate there from here in when we "retire". Which God willing will be next year. We are looking into the Summerville area to build our new home but was curious about the needs I will have for my addiction to sewing. As you all can appreciate!

How lucky you are!!! What a great area to retire to and to be so close to your kids and grands is quite a bonus!!! Good Luck with your move :D :D :D

You are so lucky to be able to move there. I live in Western NC but Charleston is one of my favorite vacation spots. It seems to always be our #1 pick for a girls weekend.

I'm sure you'll have no trouble keeping up your addiction in Charleston.

I love Charleston, too. Search for Charleston and quilt guild. It comes up on google and bing. I think they have a show every other year. You definitely won't be the lone quilter in the area. :0)

There are at least two great quilt shops in Summerville. People Places & Quilts on West Richardson Ave. and Sew'n'Sew on North Main Street. Both are very good and have regular classes and demonstrations.
