I do not have a suggestion for the main pattern, but the border could be piano keys.

I ran up to Joanns..and got a couple yards of music fabric..they do have some cute stuff.. in the music themed fabric! thanks..never looked for it before!
piano keys are a brilliant idea too! lol!
i went to webshots and looked at quilts with a music theme, and checked out ebay for patterns..i won't start this until after Christmas..but it sure it noce to look!

Aren't we just the greatest people in the world. One person writes in about making a music quilt and all of this pops up. I played the French Horn in school. I love that fabric. Whatever anyone wants, someone is there to help! Now why don't we have neighbors like that, or why isn't the whole world a bunch of quilters. We could have peace all over the place. Edie

in case you know of a sold*ier who playes an instrument,and has an APO/FPO address..here is the organization that sent my son a guitar..
