Default MY 'BARN SALE' FIND!! Need help give "her" a name.

Yesterday, we went to pick my husband's new suit (he outgrew his work suits since he retired), and we passed a barn sale sign at an old farm. We turned around and pulled in around buildings and fields and parked between rusty old farm "stuff". There was a huge barn set up like a professional seller, but old, dusty etc. (I complained to my DH - another "man sale").

There were alot of pickers, grabbing old toys, tools, and such, so I went over to the china bits and pieces tables (around 10 of them), and found this little beauty. It is a singer sew handy, in the original box. I spoke to the farmer, it was his kid's machine, and I bought it - for $20!!!!

The pickers gave me a nasty look as I proudly carried her to the truck. Now, I need help naming her. I was thinking of Dell (as in Farmer in the Dell). Any suggestions.

Lucky you finding one so cheap. I was thinking you might want to name her Hannah (from the SewHandy label - Handy to Hannah).

Wow! Nice find! Aren't you glad you stopped. If you want a feminine name, I think Adele or Adell would be nice. Like you said, farmer in A Dell or the singer Adele.Have you tried it out yet?

What a find. It looks very well taken care of. I like Adele for her name. I think all sewing machines should have feminine names. JMHO

Wow! She's in pristine condition! That's a lesson learned - you never know what you might find at a sale, even a "man sale."

I will be looking for a manual, and a bobbin, and a needle screw. I will name her Adele, it was my mother's nick name (adeleine).

She is just so cute!!!
