Default my Bernina is ill

well it's been a busy month. Went camping/hunting with dad and only came to town a few times.my Bernina is acting up. i have cleaned it and done everything i could. then mama came up and did what she could. It needs a Dr though. I do have a spare (the one i bought my 11year old daughter) It feels like I'm sewing with a toy! it's so light and the foot peddle is so small. It works though so it'll work for now until we can get my baby fixed. Nothing to be done about it but wanted to vent to people who understand.
I came back to the changes in the board and I'm still not sure i like the changes but I figure I'll adjust. Maybe I'll be able to get more sewing done! Who knows. Off to see if I can track down a dryer (ours died), Catch up on the house stuff and sew for a while! I hope everyone has a great day!

I hope you can get your Bernina fixed quickly. This is the worst possible time of year to have your machine conk out on you. I'm a firm believer in a back up machine. Good luck.

Karma, love your avatar. Sorry about your baby, but it will be fine when it gets home from the hospital. If Disney should be sued, what about the producers of Once Upon a Time? Charming goes into a coma, but still vaguely remembers Snow when he awakes, although they're all under an evil spell.

Oh my Gosh!! You are having a time of it this week. Poor baby!! I just hate it when I have machine trouble and I have to give it up to the machine tech. It makes me so nervous!!

I went ahead and bought another bernina for a great price so when mine is in the repair shop, I don't feel as heartsick... LOL! I used to have my first bernina, but I passed it on to my sister. How stupid... huh? It just sits at her house. It is still working like a top and had every foot available to buy.

Cool another day in paradise

Well here we go for the second day! got the house all sparkly clean. just have a few more things to do. How does a house get so dirty when no one is actually in it for a month and a half? change the litter box, sweep mop and dust, help dad clean his camp trailer out then I am heading to the spare machine to applique ghosts onto my Halloween DP9. Last night I got a little hand stitching done on my crazy quilt that i haven't been able to touch for 2 months and even got my sewing area organized and put back together! I'm ready for that fresh start!

The board is becoming easier to navigate. I can't wait till everyone adjusts as i am looking forward to seeing posts of new pictures and topics of ongoing projects to appear again! I have to say i am very excited to see an album of all Charisma's work in one place. I do love to see Her projects! The white is less painful today. would love to see it be a little more creamier but as with fabric it takes time to find that perfect shade of THE color you are looking for. Looks like I may get a new (to me) dryer today! Of course that means i will have to start on mount Wash~more *twitch*

My Amazing step-dad is working on my laptop to get it fixed (internal cooling fan went out), waiting for mom to get back to me on a day that would be good to visit the sewing machine Dr. I called yesterday the nearest place is about a 4 hour drive but the Dr is the one that sold my machine to me 15+ years ago and we will make an appointment with him and get my machine back the same day! I am so excited about that! My significant other just started a brand new job and will finally have the schedule he has wanted for 3 years. he loves it so far. All in all i have a million things to be grateful for! especially my parents who the first day i was home came up and spent HOURS working on my broken things trying to get everything fixed for me.
I hope everyone else is counting their blessings and having a quilty day!

Jess

Default An early start today

I woke up at 4am and couldn't go back to sleep so i got an early start on my day. It's almost 6:30 and laundry is started, printer is fixed and i went through 2 months of email and straightened it up. I had a list of things to do yesterday. Some of it got done, some of it didn't but i did get my applique ghosts done! I also finally am getting around to finishing my yellow and white lap quilt. i have to get my batting washed and dried today. Yep! that means we got our new to us dryer up and running. I have until 10am to get my stuff done, then it's off to help dad a little more today. I hope to get my backing ironed and hopefully 2 quilts basted. I will not quilt them until i get my machine back from the Dr. I just don't think daughter's machine could handle it. It's throat is tiny!
I did manage to pop into a quilt store yesterday and got some cute buttons for my crazy quilt and a few fat quarters. I would have loved to get more but cash is tight and the other half was waiting outside for me.

I am a little disgruntled about my Halloween quilt. I used a DP9 pattern and used many, many fabrics. To me it just looks too busy. I am toying with the Idea of adding a large applique in the middle to tone it down a bit. Mom says it looks fine the way it is and Halloween quilts should be busy. I'll Probably stare at it a few days to decide.

On the bright side while looking through threads here I found one referencing a way to use round pieces sewn together and folded over. I may give it a try. 10 years ago I made a bunch of round circles with applique Betta fish on them. I have no idea what i was thinking lol but maybe i can do something with them now. Well those are my notes to me for the day...

My Bernina is sick too!! When I take my foot off the foot pedal it continues to sew a few stitches, when I push the reverse button it doesnt just take a stitch or two but sews for a good inch, when I push the needle down button the needle comes down but then it starts sewing!! I am just sick. I just had it serviced last fall and shes only 5 years old. Waiting till after Holidays to get her fixed, too much sewing to do. Hope your baby gets well soon.
