What about trying a different layout of the blocks?

Scissor Queen:
That's not sashing; it's my 3rd dark. It's gotta stay.

quote=erstan947]I would put a dark brown border on the 2 sides that have only the white then border the whole quilt with another fabric. Looking good!![/quote]

how about continuing the black border all around, then edging it in the red ALL around? I think that would be pretty striking!

I think what you are seeing is that the darker colors are not your longest pieces.

There are sooooooooo many arrangements that I'd try a few to see which I liked best.

EDIT---------OKAY, I looked at the quilt again. Is the very dark, your darkest color or is it sashing. If it's your darkest brown, you went waaaaaaaaaaaaay to dark for the other prints you have.

If it's sashing--------------get rid of it as someone else suggested. If it's the darkest brown, get rid of it and chose a brown closer to what you already have.

Rip that sashing out!! There are soooooooooo many interesting designs you can do with log cabing blocks!
I do not think that is sashing. That is the block. Just think the black for the last piece of the block was too much contrast.
