Darn it!!! I never expected this!

It's even worse than that... it's the red threads escaping from the red fabric in blocks... Oh shucks!

This was my first attempt at star blocks and done on a little quilt.. at least I didn't make a big quilt with these. And I thought I had figured it out pretty good and my next one would be a whole lot better...
Well, maybe it will..... for sure I'll be more careful about fabric that ravels...

Shucks!

Sometimes that happens with white or light colored fabric's.

Sorry this happened to you!

That is frustrating. Does it show through as a shadow or do the colors show through. If the colors show through, you might be able to trim the offending colors a little so the lighter fabric covers it. Sometimes it can't be avoided if the color is white. Maybe a picture would help.

Pressing seams open will eliminate this as white would be behind white and red would be behind red. I knew pressing open seams would be useful now I realize why!

Is it quilted already? If not then you may be able to trim the red so that it doesn't show.

To avoid this in the future, lay your quilt top on a light surface and check to see if any dark seams are showing through. If they are, just trim them a tiny bit shorter than the lighter allowance. If it isn't already quilted, you can still do it.
