If your husband has a jig-saw or other saw, he could cut the pieces down. I've seen demonstrations where they put masking tape on the piece, then cut, or you could go to your local hardware store or Home Depot - they should be able to help you. You might also be able to use your Dremel, it can do amazing things.

I have used the ''saw blade'' out of the Aluminum foil box. I save these because they come in handy for so many things. I cut it to size-staple it onto 2 popsicle sticks and use it like a 2 man saw. The blade is thin enough to make a clean and precise cut. Just clamp your project down on a scrap piece of wood.

If hubby has cutting tools, maybe he can cut down the pieces to the sizes you desire.

I don't know where you are but we have a chain of hardware stores called "Ace".I just had a piece cut that was 29" by 13" and it cost $6 plexiglass included. If you can't find a hardware store that cuts it I'm told Home Depot sells something that will cut it and it costs just a few dollars.

mine got stepped on by a DD before i moved everything to the basement. i wanted to cry, but it was my own fault for having it on the floor. clear packing tape has been on it for 5 yrs or so, and it still works fine.

A skill saw or band saw would do a good job, with as many little teeth as possible on the blade. I did not read the above website but I do not know, personally, how to finish the edges. I have Plexiglas galore. Why buy all these tools when I can make my own. I have my own woodshop. Darn me.

Plexiglass is cut with a saw with the blade turned backwards--at least that's what they do in rough construction. It leaves an ugly cut. I suggest you go to your local glass shop and ask if they can cut it. Usually they have a heated wire that the 'cut' through the plexiglass. It leaves a nice clean edge.

So not only is your DH sweet, so is your son! My DH was helping me load the car for a class & the ruler fell onto the concrete. We took it to True Value & they fixed me up.
