The Feathered Star in Katy, Tx and Quilters Quarters in Conroe, TX. Both are unique and wonderful stores with friendly staff.

Candy's Quiltworks in Northridge, Ca. Candy's has over 10,000 bolts of good quilt fabric, they have over 1600 bolts of just batiks. The people in the store are really nice.

Candy's is not really my LQS, but within 20 minute drive, if you live in So. Cal, check it out.

I try not to go in our LQS that is right in my city. They are rude and are not helpful at all. The owners are the ones that are the most rude of the group. They have one employee that is nice. I go there only if I ABSOLUTELY have to. I have probably been in there maybe 5 times in 5 years.

I live in a small town, so I have to travel about 30 minutes to my LQS. Something To Crow About in Springfield, Oregon, she/they are wonderful, friendly and helpful. Not to mention nice fabric selection.

Mary Jo's. located in Gastonia NC. 32,000 sq. ft. of material. The have at least 30 cutters on the floor at all times. And always friendly and helpful! It is about 1 1/2 hr drive for me. but well worth it. She has an on line site. and you can take a virual tour of the store. Love this place!!

Heirloom Quilts in Poulsbo, WA. I'm in there two days a week, every week, and my son has nearly grown up there (doesn't help that my Aunt works there, and is the one who got me hooked). Two of the owners are irritating and not helful at all, one of them is fabulous, and happens to be the one working with my aunt every Tuesday and Friday.

The other ones nearby are Quilted Strait, in Port Angeles and soon to be Port Gamble (3 miles from my house!! WOO!!); Kingston Quilt Shop, Kingston, WA; Material Girls, Silverdale, WA.

My LQS is called The Plaid Square-I love this place, their customer service skills are top notch! They always call me by name and want to help whenever they can!! Another one that is close to me is called The Fabric Shop-I love the material that they choose, different ones than my other LQS so I get lots of options between the two!!
