Question Pfaff 18.8 and Quilty Artist problems??????????????

Hi
Wondering if anyone can help me?????
I bought the Pfaff 18.8 and Quilt Artist a few months ago and I am continously having new problems with it.
After changing all the wires, stitcher box and encoders, the encoders seem to be ok for the moment. However, my stitches have been randomly changing in size.
ie: It could be sewing fine then suddenly the stitches are 1 inch long and it suddenly star...ts sewing again on its own.
Everytime I turn the 18.8 on it never starts the same. Sometimes I get the long beep and 2 short beeps and the stitcher works, sometimes it gives me 3 short beeps and it don't work.
It also suddenly stopped sewing in auto mode after about 30 seconds, with the QA on or off.
When I do get the stitcher to work, its not always recognized by the Quilt Artist computer, usually takes about 10-12 tries if I'm lucky, to get it to pass the stitcher test.
Now it don't measure my quilt area correctly,
ie: I measure an area of 89 inches by 14 inches and the QA measures 85.5 x 13.5 inches.
Originally I had trouble with the computer freezing up and shutting down by itself, but that seems to have stopped for the time being. I have it updated to the 3.0 update.
The few times I have managed to get it to work, prior to these last 2 months (Nothing), I would always have some new issue coming up with the system, it hasn't work correclty since day one....

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!

Sure sounds like a lemon to me. Pfaff is no longer made in Germany, so what I am reading is that quality control is not as good as it used to be. Did you purchase this from a dealership? They may be willing to swap you out (or up) to a better machine.

Google your state's lemon law. In some states you may have some resources to get this machine exchanged for something better.

Have you talked to the dealership? Maybe it's time to start thinking about a complaint to the BBB and/or a complaint to your state's attorney general.

I am in Canada, no lemon law here, my only hope is the warrenty. The dealer I purchased it from is tring hard to get it fixed for me, but the higher ups are dragging their feet.

Try the Pfaff Grand Quilter Yahoo group. There is a woman on there, Crispy, plus others that I am sure will be able to help you. I have the Viking 18.8/Imperial frame but do not have the computerized stitch.
