I'd have to say just about everything, scissors, seam ripper, rotary cutters, blades, sewing machine needles, and the list goes on. I have a definite knack for losing something 6 seconds after I put it down. Drives me crazy.

Oh my gosh, I loose multiples of everything! I would hate to find out just how many seamrippers are lurking around in my studio

I like the posts from people who say put stuff back in the place where it belongs. I have a tray next to my sewing machine which has most things I use all the time, even a few presser feet. I have a cup with no handle near the sofa for pencils and a seam ripper. I have two small "waste baskets" that are carried from the sewing machines to the sofa. I could use at least two more. They are just drink mix containers and work well. I have seam rippers at the machine, by the sofa, in my purse and in the bag that goes to quilt club. My small scissors is hanging from a 24 inch piece of elastic around my neck. That 's the handiest thing yet.
Do I loose stuff. You bet!

How about one of each thing with a built in homing device - push a button and the thing would beep - need it for the car keys, too.

Rulers, tape measures, and almost everything Jan said...but I do only have one pin cushion. It is a magnetic one and I take it with me wherever I need pins. The nice thing about it, I can kind of toss the pins towards it and they go in. I tried having two chairs in my sewing room but there wasn't enough room--so I took one out. But then, I don't really need two since I only have one reg. sewing machine and one embroidery machine.

I am always having to buy because I must have a Hugh mountain somewhere of straight pins and quilting safety pins. It almost seems that every time I need them I end up buying more.
I know the borrowers take some things but what are they doing with thousands of pins? Is it scaffolding for houses., bridges or ?.......

I have extra magnetic telescoping wands they come in handy for me and the mechanic in the family (not usually me), also long measuring tapes 120", needles, I seem to have collected several different types of non-electric pressing "irons", duplicate sewing machine feet....
