Thanks for the reminder. I do have one of those. I use it in my trailer when we have hook-ups. We are having a real long snow day. It may be spring before I venture out. LOL.

I have a Panasonic Cordless that I love. I never put water in it. I just use spray bottles with water, Best Press , or diluted Best Press. I also have several small ones for classes, like the Rowenta Travel Iron and the petite Press.

I also opt for cheap and simple. I was tempted by a digital Black & Decker, spent the money and used it for exactly two days. Each time I turned it on the temp needed to be reprogrammed. Luckily my old Sunbeam was still in the back hall waiting to go to Goodwill. The Black & Decker sits lonely and unused in the back of the linen closet.

That was the first thing I checked as I thought I couldn't get two lemons. It is the irons. Back to cheap for me. Now if I can just find one with a shiny bottom (easier to clean glue off) as I hate those non stick ones.

I always buy a $20 Sunbeam and they work great--one is old enough that the coating on the iron is worn on the edges!
I've had several other cheap and expensive irons, but the $20 Sunbeams always work the best.

I've tried expensive irons and cheap irons. I recently got a Shark Ultimate Professional Iron (less than $40 on Amazon.com), and really like it. It has 1800 watts, various bells and whistles...but the feature that made my decision is the automatic shut-off. It will stay on for 15 minutes before shutting off. My previous irons shut off in less than 10 minutes, and then I had to wait for them to warm up again.

Paid over $50 for an iron and when hubs went to use it, it wouldn't get hot on the hottest setting. tried different outlets. Same thing. I used it 5 months and was frustrated with it. Needed a hot iron went to discount store and got one for $12 3 years ago and works great. No more irons over $20 for me but I have 3 irons all from discount store and together in total have not paid $50. Gave it to neighbors son who is autistic to tinker with it. He had the $50 iron working in 10 minutes. His mother loves it. Told her to keep it since he fixed it. Now his favorite thing to do is small appliance repair. His mom has garage sales every once in awhile and always gets the small appliances at asking price.
