Default need 20" square suitable for on point setting

Hello Quilting Board members. Some of my friends and I have decided to begin a round robin .. and the first block is to be a 20" square block, suitable for on-point setting - it's to be the middle of the quilt. I've made several blocks so far, but none I would like to write home about, so to speak. In other words, I'm stuck. I need help. all the ones I've come up with so far - well, I just can't imagine them in the middle of a quilt. Does anyone have any ideas they might like to share with me for this project. I'd so appreciate your help. Thanks.

Go to the Quilters cache and pick Blocks galore. They have all kinds of blocks and you can pick out the ones for 20 inch size. They show you how to cut and putting them together.
Have fun with your friends.

Do you have EQ? I have used several of their blocks to make centers from. There are so many possibilities and you can "try" them out before ever cutting a scrap of fabric.

Default round robin using a block that i didn't know what to do with

sometimes it is the one you simply can not imagine in the center of a quilt that makes the most AMAZING-WONDERFUL round robin!!!
i've been participating in round robins for 10 years now- and for the past 5 or 6 years i have used blocks that are in my UFO box- blocks i made i just don't know what to do with- whether they be practice blocks of some sort- or learning a new technique- perhaps an applique block that i make-then have no idea how to turn it into a quilt---what comes back after traveling around the robin trail-is nothing short of amazing-
last years international i used a block that was learning to do hawaiian applique- i made the block- liked it but had no idea what to do with it- and really did not hold much hope to anyone being able to do something with it---the quilt that came home is SPECTACULAR! so...my advice is---use one of those blocks you just don't know what to do with---other people will see it with different eyes- and be inspired!
