100 % Cotton thread for piecing a top?
#1
Is it a myth that you need to use 100% cotton thread to piece a quilt top? It's what I learned in my beginner's course at my LQS, but at another LQS in my neighborhood, they don't even sell 100 % cotton thread for sewing my blocks! So, myth or not? :?:

Here is my take on thread, if Long Armers are using poly threads to quilt with, why do we have to use cotton to piece? Poly thread is made much better now than it was years ago. Use what YOU want to use :D:D:D

I was told that one should use the same thread as the fabric (cotton thread on cotton fabric). Other wise the poly thread will out last the cotton and over time will start pulling and wearing down the stitch hole. I have no idea if this is correct or not.
