This morning's Wall Street Journal had a FRONT PAGE article on quilting! Specifically, about with less load to hall, truck drivers try new hobbies, including quilting.

And they have a video about it on their website:

Have a look! It's interesting!

He needs the wall hanging THERAPY IN SESSION and has a person quilting. He could hang it in the windshield!

Glad to see that folks are beginning to see us truckers as human. I have been quilting in my truck for years and am so glad to see more people getting involved in it. In my case, I have a power source in the truck so can use my regular electric sewing machine. Sure can't beat it for ways to keep the mind and hands busy productively in between loads!

I think this is great! Quilting is a great way to pass the time. Several years ago, in my local guild, my secret quilter pal was a man. He wasn't a trucker, but did travel a lot with his job, finding himself with lots of free time in strange cities. So, he had his mother teach him to hand-piece and hand-quilt. He turned out some of the most beautiful work. And he was a great quilter pal, too. I got lots of interesting fabrics, tools, and notions that he picked up on his travels.
