Swivel chairs are the best for your quilting table. Much easier to move around and much less trouble. I think you would love it.

Here is a link showing the chair I recently bought:

I love it. You can adjust it up or down. It is very comfortable.

I use a swivel office style chair oln rollers that I found at Target for $17.00 a couple of years ago. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Easy on my back and height is adjustable to add to the comfort of sitting for long periods. Good luck

you're going to think I'm crazy, but as a 'Weight Watcher', I'm always looking for ways to put exercise into my day. When I don't use my swivel, low armed office chair, I'm on my YOGA ball!! It helps me to stay balanced and makes me hold my stomach tight. I don't stay on it for more than 20-30 minutes of sewing, but when I'm done, I feel like I've really worked my core!!

wow.... That chair looks great. I guess I really should look around a bit more. I wasn't even really looking for a chair when I stumbled on the one at Marshall's. And it is priced at $99, but I'm not sure of there is lumbar support or not. I see the one from Office Max has that. Guess I'll take some time tomorrow and go chair shopping.

I use what they used to call a "steno" chair, with casters, swivels and height is adjustable. Love it , can't imagine going back to the old "stools" they used to sell with cabinet machines.

I hated the wheels Seemed like I was always snarling stuff in them -so I went back to my 1930's library chair. Its better on my back, too. Althou I did make me a nice quilted cushion for my seat. Now I can sew for hours between stretching the kinks out.

But I will need a chair for my sewing table (previously, I've used my dining room table). And I saw at Marshalls a great little desk-type chair with swivel wheels. And, OMG, it's sooo cute, Red (or Black) and the whole thing looks like it's done in one-layer of comfy leather (real or not!!).

And so, I thought, THAT would be a great sewing chair (and cute too); and then I got to thinking ...
do most of you use a SWIVEL CHAIR for sewing or just a simple STRAIGHT BACK CHAIR??? I have to admit, I've never used a swivel chair for my sewing, and don't know if I would like it or not. Would it be hard to sew with a hair that moves???

So, what does everyone use??? All opinions greatly appreciated!!!

Swivel chair without arms. The height is adjustable. The chair is small and light enough I take it to classes with me.

I have both an armless (drafting) chair and an office chair with arms. Both are adjustable, but I moved the armed chair to my computer table because I like to get up close and personal with my sewing machine and fabric. The height adjustments are what sold me on these.
