I had to put together a quilt for an auction. I chose A Walk In the Park by Two Sisters At Squirrel Hollow. I was surprised at how fast it went together. I used bright colors and everyone that has seen it loves it.

I would recommend they raffle the quilt. Frequently, silent auction bids don't go up very high. However, you can 100 tickets at $5 each and raise $500 (think more). People will pay $5 a ticket, but they don't want to pay $500 for a quilt even if it is hand made and custom.

Actually they are going to do a live auction for that very reason! They have all the local businesses donating items, plus just local people as well. Thanks for all the great tips everyone! I bought fabric for a turning twenty yesterday, and I will be cutting and stitching all day today! I'll let you know how it and the fundraiser turns out!

What about a disappearing 9 patch, they look much more complicated and are simple and quick to do.

Another quick quilt-------------not flashy but quick--------------would be a rag quilt. Quilted as you go----------and if you use full width strips (sideways) about 6" wide, they are even faster.

I sometimes do a crazy patch. They can be very fast and very beautiful and you can use all kinds of different colors.

This is the pattern I was going to suggest. It is so effective for its simplicity and you only need four fabrics.

I'm reading this the evening of Feb 2 so by now your decisions have been made. Just writing to wish the best to the injured man and hope the silent auction is a big success.
