Has anybody done a Judy Niemeyer Quilt? They are so pretty how hard are they. My daughter is wanting one for Christmas by the looks of all the pieces it may take years to get it done. She really wants a Mariners Compass. Could not have picked something easy. Any suggestions.

I am currently working on one of her patterns - "Feathered Geese" I really love doing it, but then I would say I am an experienced PP'er. I like that she provides templates for all the pieces, which uses your fabric to the most economical advantage. She has very detailed instructions. If you are comfortable with PP'ing, I'd say GO FOR IT!

I took a class on her Glacier Star (my avatar) and, once I got the hang of the PP'ing (I'd never done it before) - I don't think it was hard at all - very repetitious.....but when you're finished with each of the sections they just go together so easily. I'd say go for it! I'm just starting my 2nd JN pattern - Bali Bed Runner.

My friend just bought that same one to make for her daughter. There is a lot of sewing to be done there for sure, but what a beautiful quilt.

I have never done one of hers but they are beautiful. Certainly if you decide to do it, you will have great help from experienced quilters on this board.
