Do you guys ever think of the perfect idea for a quilt while laying in bed about to fall asleep?

A friend of mine just found out that her baby will be a boy, and her hubby is all into old tractors. While i was laying in bed last night I envisioned a white quilt with light gray tractors alternation a light green and blue wheels and steering wheel on each block. Sounds crazy, but the perfect pattern came to me.

Now I just need to find the fabric in my dreams or I will be dissappointed.

yes, that will be a cool tractor quilt,

when I am drifting off to sleep I think of cool ideas, sometimes I hurry and write them down so I don't forget and also I have dreams about quilting

I do that. I normally keep a notebook close at hand at night just for that! :)

On nights when I've stayed out late with my quilting buddies, or quilted all night, I'll sometimes have quilting dreams all night. Those are the BEST! I hate to wake up!

I think that's when I do my best designing! All is quiet, nothing competing for my attention. The problem is that I don't sleep, if I am designing! Many nights I am awake until 2am, because I can't turn my ideas off.

When I have trouble falling asleep (busy day at work, stressed out, etc), I find that if I let my mind drift about quilting helps me fall asleep. I have planned several quilts this way. Now, if I could just not have to work, then I could stay up all nite and actually make these quilts!
