Yes, you can disengage the thread cutter on the foot pedal. I want to say page 84 in your manual. It's been a long time since I did it. Of course I can't find my manual. I hated that feature and some people love that feature.

I only have 31 pages to my manual so I will have to do as Patrica Drew has done.

Sorry I gave wrong advice. It's my Juki 600 I was able to disable the thread cutting feature on the foot pedal. They both use identical foot pedals. I have both machines. I use the 2010 0n a frame so have never used the foot pedal. The thread cutter is disengaged on the 600 using its computer since the 2010 is not computerized I don't know how you could disengage it.

I know you have solved your shredding/skipping problems. For next time, also consider a larger needle. The torque put on the needle as you push the fabric around really puts alot of tension on the needle. The larger needles helps. Needle holes might be more visible to start with, but they will relax. I started quilting on a Juki TL98Q and my dealer's helper kept trying to sell me a machine quilting needle for a smaller machine. I didn't have much success till I went to a jeans or top stitch needle in 16 or sometimes 18. Just an idea for your trouble shooting repetoire!
