kwhite - I always suggest Storm at Sea, but his time I was going to suggest Bargello. We're a great team!

There are some new pattern books that use batiks. Easy pretty quilts.

Have you seen Sylvia's Bridal SAmpler? You can add as much green and/or purple as you want. It is beautiful. http://www.sylviasbridalsampler.com/

What does this do for you? It shows off the fabrics nicely and it is incredibly easy to do.

If you go to quilterscache and see "Planned Patch Hood", that is where I got it from. I had one block laid out and said to myself "I like it this way". I call it "Four Patch Surrounded".

I like that too, would love to know the name and where to get the pattern.

K.P., Go to www.quilterscache.com and look under planned patch hood, you should find it.

Many thanks for all the great feedback! I must say, a decision isn't coming quickly, but thanks for helping narrow it down to a few good choices. I am not familiar with Jacob's Ladder or Storm at Sea patterns; could someone post a link? I had thought of a bargello, but wasn't sure how it would look in a king size quilt. Has anyone made a king size bargello?

I have quilted off and on for a few years, primarily smaller quilts for charities. Most of my patterns are simple, requiring only a mat, rotary cutter and chain sewing on the machine. :) I think some of your ideas will work great for our quilt group at church.

Thanks again for the great suggestions!
